since there was no way were actually going to be able to get to tickets, let alone fly to manchester, for the united game, we decided to spend our last day in london in one of the craziest sports pubs i've ever been to.
we were greeted with over 100 screens, each playing live, final day matches for matches going on throughout england. it was like hooligan heaven right in the middle of london. they even had tv screens above the urinals in the men's room!
every result of every game ended exactly as we could have hoped for: Manchester United won the title, Fulham scored a goal with 15 minutes left in their game to secure their return to the premiership next season (and a 14 million pound bonus as a result), and Chelsea even managed to tie on a last second through the legs fluke goal.
i don't know what was more enjoyable, everthing going our way and singing along to throngs of fans chanting in the pub, or watching the teams we hated losing and watching their fans literally crying in the stands. maybe i'll go to hell for that last comment, but i don't care, it was the greatest cummualitive sports day ever!
